RiverRun will Host Second Annual Can Film Festival with Screening of “The Muppet Christmas Carol”

Come celebrate the season and enjoy a very festive Kermit, Miss Piggy and the whole Muppet crew with family and friends on the big screen. RiverRun is excited to present the second annual Can Film Festival with a screening of “The Muppet Christmas Carol” on Saturday, December 16 at 3 p.m. at Marketplace Cinemas.

Requested admission is two cans of food for Samaritan Ministries. Samaritan Ministries is particularly in need of coffee, canned chicken or tuna, sugar, marinara sauce and a variety of spices and seasonings.

Released in 1992, “The Muppet Christmas Carol” follows Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie and the entire cast of the Muppets as they re-tell the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol.” Featuring Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge, the film features comedic and almost scary performances from the “Ghosts of Christmas past, present, and yet to come.”

“RiverRun is thrilled to again partner with Samaritan Ministries for our second Holiday Can Film Festival! We’re delighted to be able to help stock their food pantry while offering a rare opportunity to see the holiday classic ‘The Muppet Christmas Carol’ on the big screen,” RiverRun Executive Director Rob Davis said. “Everyone loves the Muppets, and we look forward to this chance to bring out the whole family to enjoy such a fun film and do a great thing for Samaritan Ministries at the same time.”

RiverRun’s screening of “The Muppet Christmas Carol” is being presented with support from Capture Public Relations and Marketing. Partners for the special screening include Samaritan Ministries and Marketplace Cinemas.

RiverRun is presenting “The Muppet Christmas Carol” as a free screening, however, tickets are required. Tickets can be requested at riverrunfilm.com, subject to availability.
