The Souper Bowl of Caring is centered on the NFL’s Super Bowl Sunday. On that day, millions of dollars are spent on food served at game day parties while many people are hungry.
You, your friends and family can help in several ways. Church youth groups can take up a collection after the service on the day of the big game. Some people collect money at their Super Bowl parties. Other people organize church youth to collect at church suppers and other events during the holidays or Super Bowl Sunday.
Tour de Llama
Tour de Llama is a chance for cyclists to raise money to help feed the hungry and shelter the homeless. Thirty-six and 60-mile rides begin and end at Divine Llama Vineyards in East Bend and go through Yadkin County. After the ride, attendees enjoy winery tours, lunch, photo opps with llama, wine tastings, hayrides and more.
Sam and Eggs
SAM & Eggs, Samaritan’s outreach to the business community, is an annual fundraising breakfast held in September at Bridger Field House at Wake Forest University. The Good Samaritan Philanthropy Award, which recognizes a person or group who has made significant contributions to Samaritan Ministries, is presented.
Penny Campaign is Samaritan’s signature community event, which has raised money to feed and house people in need for many years.
The Penny Campaign kicks off in October when the call goes out to schools, churches, clubs and organizations to collect money. From October to December, you’ll see our penny jars in schools, churches and other locations collecting change, bills and checks.
