From the very beginning, Samaritan Ministries has been shaped by churches living out faith in action. What started in 1981 as a small gathering of Christians responding to hunger in their community has grown into a mission sustained by the hands and hearts of local congregations.

Jump In and Volunteer
When your church prepares meals in the Soup Kitchen, offers hospitality to guests, or steps into any act of service, you embody that original vision. You help us carry on the message of Matthew 25 in serving “the stranger” with compassion and dignity. Your willingness to put love into motion allows us to provide food, shelter, and hope every single day.
Ways your church can serve:
- Volunteer in the Soup Kitchen
- Assemble gift bags as a group for Samaritan guests
- Support guest needs through food donations (see our Wish List)
- Organize a group to provide breakfast or dinner for our overnight Shelter guests
PLAN A VISIT
Share a Talent or Invite us to You
Every congregation has gifted individuals who can bless our guests through music, art, or creative expression. We welcome choirs, praise bands, youth groups, artists, and skilled volunteers to share moments of reflection and worship with our guests. Whether it’s music during mealtimes, an art project, a short devotional, or a practical skill, these offerings become another expression of faith in action by ministering to the hearts of others in hardship.
If you’d like to see our mission firsthand, let’s plan a visit! Schedule a tour, bring a young adult group for a special project, or invite a Samaritan Ministries staff member to speak at your church and we’ll visit you instead! Together, we can live out our shared commitment to serving neighbors in need.

Churches play a vital role in the success of our community events. We value your support in areas such as event setup, sponsorship, and inviting friends and family to join us.

- Take up an offering for Samaritan Ministries
