Project Cornerstone is Samaritan Ministries’
residential long-term recovery program. Cornerstone
provides intensive case management services to former
substance abusers who have demonstrated a strong desire
to overcome the disease of addiction. Since 1995, over
125 men have participated.
- Addresses the core causes of homelessness and eliminates
barriers to employment, housing and recovery
- Provides individual and group counseling, classes
on addiction, recovery, spirituality, job readiness
and basic life skills
- Offers an individual, holistic approach to recovery
within a controlled environment
- Participation is limited to 9 men
- The US Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD) funds this collaborative effort with the City
of Winston-Salem, Samaritan Ministries provides 25%
matching funds
- The average time spent in the program is 18-24 months
